Cops: Teens Studied Stars, Then Robbed Their Homes

Four girls allegedly looted from Lohan, Hilton, Bloom, and others

(Newser) – Four teenage girls have been arrested for allegedly breaking into a slew of celebrity homes, sometimes more than once, and making off with glamorous souvenirs. Police say the girls would study the stars, picking out clothes and jewelry they wanted to make off with, and figuring out when they’d be away from home. Then they’d break in, grab the baubles and leave; sometimes the stars wouldn’t even realize they’d been robbed. Among the victims: Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Orlando Bloom.

One of the teens' attorneys says it was more prank than money-making scheme. “It would be fun to do capers. It was all about fun,” he says, “It was one of those cases of you get bored, and it was something to do.” But another of the girls is set to appear in a reality TV show, and she’s denying any part in the robberies. So far none of the girls have been charged.

You saw that on Mad Men, and Betty used that as an excuse to not parent her children.

The justice system was created by men and as such deals with male concerns. If it had been created by women maybe more women would be in jail.

Its good to see that the disparity in the number of male and female felons is finally being addressed. We should not rest until there are just as many women as men behind bars.
