(Newser) – The Lightning GTS—a new all-electric sports car—will go from 0 to 60 in four seconds, the car's British manufacturer claims. Part of a coming boom in electric cars (in Europe anyway), the GTS will travel 250 miles on a 10-minute charge and max out at 130 mph. But save up—it should go for about $300,000.

The GTS' will feature wheel motors that help acceleration, as well as take up less space—which leaves more room for batteries. The car is slated for a 2008 release, although it might take a little longer to hit the US. Several companies are aiming to release electric cars in the next few years, and motorcycles are already on the market.
