(Newser) – Stanley Kubrick's the Shining is the best horror film ever made, say the editors of TotalSciFi.com. The film's ''expansive sets, surreal visuals, and an intense performance from Jack Nicholson add up to a film guaranteed to give viewers a sleepless night." The top 10:

  1. The Shining (1980)
  2. Rosemary's Baby (1968)
  3. The Wicker Man (1973)
  4. Bride of Frankenstein (1935)

  1. Psycho (1960)
  2. Alien (1979)
  3. Night of the Living Dead (1968)
  4. Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974)
  5. Halloween (1978)
  6. Jaws (1977)

I had no idea people liked wicker man that much. It was great, but not top 10 material IMO. No exorcist is a travesty. I'd have it at #1.
