Like others, severed by natural causes, but no less mysterious

(Newser) – Another foot has washed up on a British Columbia beach, bringing the total to seven over the last two years. The right foot, inside a running shoe like some of the others, was separated from the body through a “natural process,” police officials tell the Vancouver Sun. Officials will analyze it in the hopes of identifying the victim. At least one of the other feet remains unidentified, though it's a righty as well.

Photographs of shoes that were on five feet that washed up on British Columbia shores over the past year are displayed on a map.

yeah, you're probably right. not as morbid as grave-robbing, but pretty plausible. :-)
