(Newser) – The Olympic flame touched down in Canada today, with a relay kicking off in Victoria, British Columbia, which will take it across the continent before returning it to Vancouver—less than 70 miles away—for the start of the Winter Games on Feb. 12. Its first day didn't exactly go according to plan—it arrived late from Greece, then it took several tries to light the cauldron at the provincial legislature.

I was merely being factious about the whole "green" thing, with a little sarcasm...but 350$ for a freaking 15 minute torch?????? good gravy no wonder they are pissed off in Canada...They should go Captain Cannuk on their butts for that..( It's an old comic book character ...no longer in print I think)

and there is the carbon footprint of said flame, are they using GREEN fuel, from renewable sources? Where are the carbon scrubbers for the emissions, why couldn't they have used a solar powered non polluting LCD screen to represent the flame, and just blue-toothed it to the next weilder....lol
