Cops Find 6 Bodies at Rapist's House

He's arrested as search in Cleveland continues

Share

(Newser) – Cleveland police have arrested a convicted rapist and discovered the remains of six bodies in and around his house. They're asking relatives of missing persons to bring them anything with DNA evidence to help identify the victims, reports the Plain Dealer. Anthony Sowell, 50, has lived at the house since 2005, when he was released from prison after serving 15 years for rape.

"He apparently is a serial rapist," a police spokesman tells CNN. Police found the first two bodies yesterday hidden on the third floor when they went to Sowell's house to charge him with an unrelated rape. Subsequent searches turned up others in the basement, crawl space, and in a shallow grave outside. They're still searching for more.

this is why you do not release rapist back into society.Option 1: You put them on a boat going out to sea. You dump them overboard to see if they can swim. If they can't swim, oh well no big loss. Forgot one detail: Dump them into a shark infested ocean. Problem gone......Option 2: See option 1........works for me.......

There's no excuse for this. This guy should have never been freed. Rape is one of those one-strike crimes. Once you debase your own conscience by stealing someone else's sense of dignity and self-worth through violation of something so personal and inviolate, you can't be trusted in society ever again. You've damaged the thing that allows people to trust that you won't hurt them, their belief in your humanity. When you rape, as when you murder, your conscience is irreparably damaged. You have much less holding you back from worse deeds, if anything at all. Reply

instead of just warehousing these guys , when we have them we should be studying them , intensely ,.... here we have a captive population of violent humans , antisocial , different thinking ,... here we can study our dark side ,.... cause some violence can be considered ordinary ,... domestics , fits of rage , passion ,.... then there is sum thats just unfathomable for most of us ,.... sadistic serial , predator stuff , ,..... our twisted side ,..... we should study it when we can , and as a side we would maybe see the cases that should not be set free ,.... oh and disect the brains and study the cadavers of the sociopaths that die in custody or are executed as well ...... bet theres lots to be learned Reply
