Martin, Baldwin to Host Oscars

March 7 broadcast will be third for Martin, first for Baldwin

(Newser) – Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will host next year’s Oscars telecast, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced today. Martin’s hosted the show twice, and though Baldwin never has, he has plenty of similar experience, hosting Saturday Night Live 14 times. That’s one less than Martin, who in a press release announcing the March 7 pairing proclaimed, “I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin.”

So I'm guessing they put Lorn Michaels in charge of the Oscars. I can live with that. Especially since I won't watch it anyways. Reply

Steve Martin---------Thumbs up. Alec Baldwin??????? He's a far-left hollywood blowhard. Far-left loonies are never funny, just annoying. Reply

No one can follow Hugh Jackman. He actually made the boring Oscars a lot of fun. Reply

I'm all for Steve Martin, maybe he'll bring his little band and play for us. He's quite good. Folksy but good. Reply
