(Newser) – Two NATO soldiers have been missing in Western Afghanistan since Wednesday after a routine supply mission went awry. “We continue exhaustive search and rescue operations to locate our missing service members,” a NATO spokesperson tells the BBC. “We are doing everything we can to find them.” That part of Afghanistan has recently seen a rise in violence, notably roadside bombs.

NATO troops in western Afghanistan are predominantly Italian and American. The British government confirmed that the missing are US soldiers, but the Pentagon refused to confirm that, CNN reports. “The families of these service members have been notified about their loved ones' status,” a spokesperson says.

Please go home and put the billions to better use. Just by teaching courses on other countries and their languages and culture you could leave a safer legacy for your grankids. Save money (you're gonna need it AND you'll anyway be more effective - it's a no-brainer - unless you own Halliburton, Blackwater or one of their clones, of course).
