(Newser) – President Obama will visit Alaska next week for the first time, stopping at Elmendorf Air Force Base to observe Veterans Day with base personnel while Air Force One refuels. Like most recent presidents, Obama will visit Alaska en route to Asia, the Anchorage Daily News reports. The president would like to stay longer in the future, he told Alaskan tribal leaders yesterday, but “it's going to be during the summer."

I hope he stops in at the Palin house and save a trip to Russia since he'd be able to see it from her kitchen window. Reply

If he goes, he will be called a photo op guyy by the Right; if he doesn't he will be called anti-military...the Right seems to need to find fault no matter what he does. Reply

Damn. I wanted to be first so I could say: "Cue the Palin remarks." Sad that Alaska- the land the Jack London made famous, is now associated with Palin. Reply
