Obama: 'Let's Finish the Job'

President rallies Democrats as House debates bill

(Newser) – President Obama rallied the Democratic troops today and told the nation that "this is our moment to deliver" on health care reform. In a brief Rose Garden address that took place as the House debated its long-awaited bill, Obama again stressed the need for reform and urged lawmakers to "answer the call of history." Representatives are expected to vote on the final measure sometime today, and Nancy Pelosi sounds confident, notes Politico.

"Today we will make not only history, but progress for America's working families," she said. It remains unclear, however, whether Democrats have the necessary 218 votes. No Republicans are expected to vote for the bill. Earlier, Obama made a rare visit to Capitol Hill to meet with Democrats in a closed-door session. "I reminded them that opportunities like this come around maybe once a generation," he said.

Aside from the insurance companies the other problem is the pharmaceuticals. In Canada the drugs are cheaper. Also some of the prescription requirements in your country are easily obtained over the counter at any pharmacy in Canada. This disparity may be because of the pharamceutical lobby's success with bribing the politicians in Congress. You can actually find out which drugs you need, call a Canadian pharmacy & find out if you can purchase it over the counter.

Govt. control? Your govt. has always been controlled by rich corporations like the health insurance companies. That's why govt. doesn't work and that's why the GOP & the Blue Dogs don't want health care reform. They're own by corporations & special interests. You should take that control back where it should be - in the hands of the American pubic.
