Palin Renews 'Death Panels' Argument

(Newser) – Sarah Palin has returned to her Facebook soapbox to reinvigorate the "death panels" meme she helped popularize. "We had been told there were no 'death panels' in the bill," says an essay posted to the former Alaska governor's page. "But look closely at the provision mandating bureaucratic panels that will be calling the shots regarding who will receive government health care."

Palin doesn't actually say what her followers ought to be looking for, not does she follow up on a passage urging readers to "look closely at provisions addressing illegal aliens’ health care coverage too," Politico notes. But she does take shots at Nancy Pelosi and heap praise on the Stupak amendment.

The "death panel" label you've applied to the issue is so misleading as to hint at gross incompetence, a refusal to read the bill, or plain attention-whoring. As opposed to releasing books and fighting against healthcare, was she not supposed to learn the intricacies of foreign and economic policy so as to present an effective challenge to Obama in 2010, perhaps galvanizing the Party of No to change tired ideology to a progressive conservatism? Instead, she betrays the base by acting, well... base. Reply

Is sit worth reminding you that Palin started college as a wife and mother and moved around while getting her degree? She is like millions of women who did the same thing. It isn't easy being an adult. Obama went to 2 colleges and admits he is sorry that he spent so much time drinking, drugging and partying. He had his favorite pusher. I don't remember reading that he held a part-time job while at college either. His undergraduate and graduate records have been sealed. We know what a poor student Gore was and that Bush was fair. McCain didn't do well if you consider his placement in the GPA list but I also think that he was in a school that all were above average so to be last could have been having a B- average.

Read the Bill's table of contents to see how many boards and agencies will be created to review, study, and make determinations about what should be made available and to whom and when. I believe there are @ 100 plus new boards. I want my doctor making the decision because it is the right one to do not because it is on the menu he needs to follow because of government policies.
