(Newser) – Carrie Prejean talked to Sean Hannity about her solo sex tape last night, and she had some words for the ex-boyfriend (and recipient of the tape) who, one assumes, sold it to TMZ: “I’ve learned a lot about people and what they’ll do to make some extra money,” said Prejean, who was, of course, on the show to promote her new book, Still Standing: The Untold Story of My Fight Against Gossip, Hate, and Political Attacks.

I have to give some logic classes to the mental midget posters on here. I'm not sure I can take much more of the ignorance I see daily. Is there anything wrong with promoting/selling a book to make money? No. Is there anything wrong with selling an x-rated video of a 17-year-old to TMZ, knowing it will hurt your former girlfriend, to make some extra money? Yes.

@reasonator: I dunno...is there anything wrong with taking a stand and saying 'gee, i guess in retrospect, now that i add it all up, I can see that Prejean is maybe just a little bit suspect as a person..gee, maybe i should stop making excuses for her and just admit i was duped by a self-promoter...' My guess is that in your world, no, that is not acceptable - because that could be viewed as breaking away from the group think...and your types never want to be caught outside of the fold.

You would be wrong, exley. I'm not a Republican or a conservative, and I don't particularly like Prejean. I'm not a Christian, I'm an atheist. And I don't believe in absolute moral value. I'm a subjectivist. So, it seems you have formed preconceived notions about me that are incorrect. But, my argument here, I think, is valid. I don't fault anyone for selling and promoting a book to make money. I do fault people for selling to a celeb gossip Website a webcam video of your girlfriend masturbating that was given to you in private when she was underage.

Believing that marriage should a certain way is a long way from being a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion, as defined by dictionary.com. If she were a bigot, defending her does not make you a bigot either. If she were to appear in court over her statement, her attourney would be a bigot by your fallible reasoning.

We both agree that Hitler did terrible, terrible things. I don't condone ONE thing he did. He was an evil man, no doubt, but if we allow ourselves to hate, even Hitler, then we are just as guilty. You justify your hate based on the evil that one has done. I say that hating somebody and then saying that hating is wrong is hypocritical. That is the real difference. Go ahead and live with hate in your heart, it's your prerogative.

First of all, you cannot love if you cannot hate. Second, Hate can be a noble emotion. Hate implies passion, and passion generates action. You can hate in a good way ... I hate war, I hate world hunger, I hate people who torture children and animals, I hate people who work to steal away the rights of others ... that doesn't make me a bad person, but it may make me a non-christian. Strangely, god hates (see the old testament, Proverbs, seven things that god hates). Carrie Prejean is a hater, but a bad kind. She judges others, and works to limit others' rights with a smile, all while justifying her bigotry with religious "values." If you doubt me, watch Prejean's speech at the Conservative Leadership Conference.

Thinker, think on this: A person's capacity to love is not dependent upon their ability to hate as you suggest. Everybody has the ABILITY to do both, but to allow hate to be a reality in ones life is entirely a different matter. To hate is an evil thing really and to do so and yet hate those who hate is not logical. BTW, reread your bible if you own one. The God of the christian bible does not hate people. The bible does say however to love the sinner and hate the sin, which is more or less what I'm trying to say.

I think it is the christian habit of always passing judgement on others but then deflecting judgement when on of their own runs afoul of the nearly impossible strictures they place upon the human condition that I find most annoying. Listen...anyone who knowlingly would display themselves for pagent judgement is no christian - they are in love with themselves and want everyone else to agree with them on what a great person they are...follow that up with all the additional antics and I think you are placing your faith in a suspect 'christianl....
