Lou Dobbs Leaves CNN

Longtime anchor announces move on tonight's show

Share

(Newser) – Anchor Lou Dobbs is leaving CNN, he announced during tonight’s show—his last after 27 years at the channel. Dobbs, whose contract wasn’t up until 2011, has made waves with his anti-immigration views and his questioning of President Obama’s citizenship; he didn’t shed much light on his next move, saying he was “considering a number of options and directions.”

“Some leaders in the media, politics and business have been urging me to go beyond my role here at CNN and engage in constructive problem-solving,” Dobbs, 64, added. He met with Fox News’ Roger Ailes last month, the New York Times reports, though it’s not clear that he might jump to the rival network.

Wow, wish that I didn't remember 27 years ago like it was yesterday. I was going to 'aerobics' bare footed and with leg warmers like Jane Fonda. He was older than me then but pudgier cuter and had never heard of immigration as a money making opportunity. He gets a lot of points for staying with CNN longer than I stayed with the husband who paid for aerobics, but in the remaining years, I never married the fat, rich white guy for the money. Marry for money--hardest job you'll ever have. Sell your soul to the highest bidder? That, I fear, actually works. Can't miss what you never had. And, so Lou who I loved in 1987 while I nursed my baby and you were like me--rather progressive, I understand your desire for money as the qualifier of your success, but mourn your needing it. Aloha my old, dear friend.
