(Newser) – Carrie Prejean says there's no reason a good Christian can't boost her cup size. “I don't think there's anything wrong with getting breast implants as a Christian,” she tells Christianity Today. “I don't see anywhere in the Bible where it says you shouldn't get breast implants.” The former Miss California doesn’t go so far as to say that the Bible is also A-OK with making sex tapes, however.

She does address her stance on gay marriage, which set off this whole fiasco: “People who say I hate gays and lesbians are, in a polite way, ignorant. I have friends who are gay. I have hairdressers who are gay. I am not afraid of gays.”

@myvoice - I think her hero Jesus told his followers not to concern themselves with acquiring material things on earth (including implants). It seems Prejean is as much a Christian as she is tolerant of gays.

I'm glad the first type of gay "friend" she has is a hairdresser...This woman is so confused, she is not intelligent but has been forced into the spotlight and some make-shift martyr for the conservative christian community. Psh, I'm no Biblical scholar by any means, but I know I've read bits, maybe from Leviticus, condemning tattoos and "mutilations." The tattoo part is more what struck out since my region of the world has many people getting cross tattoos and the like, but mutilation would certainly extend to breast implants. Reply

We need to get back to the original intent of Christian scriptures about Christians and gays. We have a paper trail of Christian scholars leading all the way back through Christian history. That way, if you don't like what the Bible says, you are free to reject the Bible. First, the Bible gives everyone the chance to become Christians, gays included. It says clearly in John 3:16: "...for whosoever believes in Him..." The scriptures are also clear that Homosexuality is sin. Look at the two main scriptures about it. In the first chapter in the letter to the Roman Church, the Bible is clear: homosexuality is sin. Go back to the book of Genesis in the account of Sodom and Gomorrah. It said clearly that homosexuality was why God destroyed the entire Sodom-Gomorrah area. Any Bible interpretation that is responsible enough to look at what the scriptures say will come to that conclusion. Any interpretation that does not is not a responsible interpretation of the Bible. Such people who say the Bible does not condemn homosexuality need to be honest, and either accept that view or reject the Bible and be done with. Reply
