(Newser) – Chris Brown apologized to Rihanna on BET’s 106 & Park yesterday, adding that he’s “embarrassed” by the assault. The singer says he doesn’t agree with his ex-girlfriend's decision to discuss the incident on 20/20, but “I can only be a man and just accept the fact that I was wrong for what I did.” Watch the video above.

Well, he said that he was sorry again. Made a video even. I believe that she is really using this "assault" now for publicity. On Larry King with Denise Brown, battered women thing. Shortly after this happened to her, she should have said some then. Why now? Reply

Women are dying daily, moron, at the hands of abusive partners. It's not a "battered woman thing." Who the fuck are you to know when someone abused and battered can scrape up the courgae to speak, especially given the horror it was at the hands of someone she loved.

"assualt"? Why the scare quotes around assault? Have you seen the photographs? Does that not look like an assault to you?

Yes, all those screaming adoring fans and record sales are really just horrible. It is not on me to forgive him, but he is not off the hook. to his fans, If this boy had laid his hands on your daughter or your sister or your friend, or you - would you be talking about giving him a break? would you talk about forgiving him? Hell No! Reply

Exactly. And it is a culture of abuse and a process to recover from it. If he'd beaten the crap out of a stranger he'd be in jail now. But hey. It was just his woman. What did she do the provoke it? Why is she whoring for "publicity" now? You see from bahari's ignorant post what the prevailing mindset is. Chris Brown needs to follow the direxction Rihanna's taking and be the role model he needs to be. Rihanna spoke about how she had to set a better example for young fans of hers who might stay with an abuser because they "love" him. Chris Brown's father was abusive. He needs to remind his young fans how hard it is to be a respectful, civilized member of society when violence against women was his only male role model...and warn them not to let machismo take them down the path he followed.
