Fox News Lands Obama Interview

Prez will sit down with Garrett in Beijing

(Newser) – President Obama has apparently softened on Fox News and will grant the network an interview while in Beijing. “I will interview POTUS on camera,” tweets Fox’s Major Garrett. “4 other networks will too. 10 mins per. Many had asked. Can say now.” Though the White House has been searingly critical of Fox recently, calling it a political party, not a news organization, those attacks steered clear of correspondents like Garrett, USA Today reports.

I agree with ya Rocky, which is why I qualified my statement with 'as terrible.' But most MSM is guilty of this to about the same extent because it gets ratings. What's sad is that we will still get a softball interview with the President. I'd like to see all Presidents (to borrow a phrase from the POTUS himself) 'kept honest.' Ask tough questions, it's the duty of the press. Challenge, but not badger. I think the press is too worried about the President liking them (bc he/she ultimately decides with whom he will do an interview), to do respectable journalism.

davjc09, Fox's "news" shows are not overtly biased, but they certainly feature heavily those stories which favor liberals and go very, very lightlt=y on any stories that might favor liberals. this is an editorial action, though, and has nothing to do with reporters like Garret, who I agree is not bad.
