Dow Down 12 on Housing

Tech sector drags on indices after weak earnings

(Newser) – Stocks closed down following disappointing data on home construction and lackluster earnings from tech firms Salesforce.com and Autodesk, the Wall Street Journal reports.

  • The Dow lost 11 points to close at 10,426.
  • The Nasdaq fell 11 points, settling at 2,193.
  • The S&P 500 lost 1 point to close at 1,110.
