Disgruntled Dem Wants Geithner, Summers Sacked

Peter DeFazio says White House betrayed Main St. for Wall St.

(Newser) – Rep. Peter DeFazio wants Barack Obama to fire the Larry Summers and “Timmy Geithner” for being Wall Street lap dogs, and says there’s a “growing consensus” in the Progressive Caucus that agrees with him. Summers and Geithner oppose a Progressive proposal to use unspent TARP funds to create jobs through infrastructure projects. “We think it is time, maybe, that we turn our focus to Main Street,” the Oregon Democrat tells MSNBC’s Ed Shultz.

He added that Geithner wouldn’t answer his questions about the AIG bailout during his congressional testimony—DeFazio’s furious that Goldman Sachs got paid off in on the bets it made with AIG. He said that these days Summers' and Geithner’s names draw boos in the Progressive Caucus, which may soon formally ask Obama to fire them. “We may have to sacrifice just two more jobs to get millions back for Americans,” he concludes.

"By 2005, the United States was spending almost twice as much per capita on health care as Canada was." That's a quote from the following web site; http://healthcarereform.nejm.o... If you want to fix the economy stop wasting time on a health reform bill that's supposed to trust health insurance companies who's main aim is massive profits. You should have had universal health care decades ago but Congress is too busy betraying the American people by taking huge amount of money from insurance lobbyists.

Short memories! Everyone-including GOP-were pretty darned scared one year ago. So was Europe, Japan, Greenland went bankrupt! We aren't even at the edge of the forest yet and listen to everyone complain. Everyone knew that unemployment would hit DOUBLE DIGITS. It was on all the stations. We were all happy that it wouldn't be 25%. Job loss is decreasing. Blame Bush, not Geitner! And slow down. We can't all be this narrow.
