Huckabee: Obama Attacks 'Shameful'

Republican condemns knee-jerk criticism

(Newser) – Mike Huckabee denounced some of his fellow Republicans' knee-jerk attacks on President Obama as "deplorable" and "shameful" in a recent speech. Huckabee said attacking Obama over well-intentioned actions like visiting Dover Air Force Base as the bodies of American troops arrived home or handing out Halloween candy made civil debate impossible, the Huffington Post reports.

"I hated it when people did that to George Bush," said the former Arkansas governor. "They couldn't even laugh at the man's jokes. They found something wrong with everything. If we do that to Barack Obama, then shame on us, shame on us. No wonder our country is so divided when that happens."

I just find it deplorable that some people on my end of the aisle want to find everything wrong and nothing right about the man as a man. - Mike Huckabee

DEMI... Obama has not been in office for one year, sorry to tell you dear but it just seems that long. By talking about the republicans driving us into a depression, if you mean the stimulus bill I would like to remind you that Obama DID vote for that although he only voted "present" for almost everything else he ever voted for. Couldn't make up his mind then and can't make it up now. I have never seen a president "dither" so much and about everything. Except lieing about being a Muslim and racist and about sitting in his church for over 20 years but had no idea what Rev. Wright was saying. Now that was a good one.

You don't make any sense at all to me. Why isn't his record the point? Anyone can say "we just need to work together and get our problems solved". Also, who exactly are the "folks" that are "just interested in tearing down things (what things?) and are not interested in building a better life for ourselves and our children"? Do you not understand the fight over the HC bill? People want a better life for themselves, children, and all generations to come. So you are saying that the tea party people don't care? I guess you would just love it if everyone around this nation would hold hands and sing a song about getting along.
