Far-Right Challenger a Threat to McCain

Talk show host JD Hayworth gets close in new poll

Share

(Newser) – Everyone’s favorite maverick could be unseated in 2010 by a hard-line conservative talk show host who's mulling a bid, a new Rasmussen poll suggests. John McCain leads potential primary opponent JD Hayworth, a local radio host and former House member, by a razor-thin 2%, which is within the poll’s 4% margin of error. Whoever emerged from that battle would almost certainly sail through the general election, Talking Points Memo reports, because Democrats still don’t have a strong candidate.

The GOP is falling apart at the seams if your PRESIDENTIAL candidate from 2008 might get unseated. Election FAIL. Reply

I don't think the liberals in the GOP understand just how serious conservatives are. I would be happy to see McCain lose his seat as well as any other liberal pretending to be a Republican.

Personally I love the fact that the Conservative Party is now tossing aside the Republican Power Base, already the Religious Right left politics months ago and are still pulling further and further away not the Neo Nazi element of the Right is asserting itself and all the while Republicans are tearing themselves apart.. Go for it Repubs, you are making yourselves more of a minority with each group you toss aside until the point you have no base left to elect even a dog catcher to office.

And, once again, dly, terrified that someone, somewhere might mistakenly consider him to be sane, refers to "liberals" in the GOP as if there really were, y'know, any.
