9/11 Defendants to Explain Why They Did It

Men plan to air their grievances against US

(Newser) – The five men accused of plotting the 9/11 attacks will plead not guilty, but only so they have an opportunity to air their grievances against the US. The accused freely admit organizing the devastating terrorist attack, but wish to “explain what happened and why they did it," said a lawyer for accused terrorist Ali Abd al-Aziz Ali. They will also give "their assessment of American foreign policy," attorney Scott Fenstermaker told AP. "Their assessment is negative."

Don't be so sure. They will gain sympathizers either way. Question, will a military tribunal side step their attempt?

The judge will be all over this and will shut down any attempt to "editorialize" on the witness stand. The only thing they will end up doing is ensure they get executed.
