Boy Beaten on Facebook 'Kick a Ginger' Day

Site inspired by South Park episode

(Newser) – Police suspect a boy was attacked at his southern California middle school because a Facebook site urged assaults on redheads. The boy, 12, was beaten twice on a day declared "Kick a Ginger Day" on the Facebook site, inspired by an episode of South Park. Police are continuing to investigate. The boy was not seriously injured.

Most likely they will. Like Vice said below. the whole episode was about irony of racism. As a parent, I started watching South Park to see what the kids were watching.They some times they have good political or social messages. And I really laughed when Cartman got burned by his racism.: ) Locally we had that happen 4 months ago, my red headed stepson kicked back harder. The 14 year old facebook kid was disciplined.

Many of today's parents refuse to parent. They expect the schools and the television to do it for them. Most of today's 10 year olds see a lot on TV that they shouldn't.

That's just the point. The sarcasm is lost on children below a certain maturity level and the parents and the cable networks need to pick up on what's available to the kids and set about using the censuring tools they have at their disposal.

WHy the hell were the parents allowing their kids to watch South Park? Oh wait like RNC (and yes I am agreeing with you) said most parents today want NOTHING to do with their kids and would rather they watch TV than actually interact and teach them things like principals. Just look at what has been in the news lately. Not to dig up the uglyness of that rape but that is a perfect example of the "well its not my problem" attitude kids have these days. How is this any different than "smack a black" day or "kick a spick" day? These are hate crimes against a group of people and should be treated as such. South Park was satirizing hatred towards groups of people and how meaningless and hypocritical it can be. This just proves how stupid and ignorant many people are. On that note, I apologize to any supporters of this "kick a ginger" movement for using big words in this post, most of you probably never received any education past 8th grade. Reply

hate crime legislation is intended for things a bit more serious than 'kick a ginger day.' Yes it sucks but the level of actual animosity is qualitatively different than 'smack a black day' (which I hope is entirely hypothetical.)
