'Draco' Defends Daniel Radcliffe Over Pot Pic

Harry Potter 's Tom Felton says allegations are made up

(Newser) – Tom Felton may play Daniel Radcliffe’s arch-enemy in the Harry Potter films, but in real life he’s jumping to Radcliffe’s defense in Marijuanagate. “Harry” made headlines earlier this month when a British tabloid ran a photo of him allegedly toking up (jazzed up by a supposedly overheard quote, “I love weed”), but he quickly denied smoking anything other than cigarettes—and “Draco” has his back, the Telegraph reports.

“Obviously Daniel and Emma Watson are under more pressure to keep a squeaky-clean image. When the media fabricates stories I don't think it's really fair on those poor guys,” Felton says. “He did ring me last week. He's a trouper, he's doing his best. I just reassured him that the vast majority of people are on his side.”

Hmmm, come to think of it I would see nothing wrong with Harry Potter blowing a line of coke off Hermine's behind.

Society doesn't hate weed. The problem is that parents raise their kids to warship celebrities so they trick themselves into thinking the celebrities have as much of a responsibility to be a good example as they do. The same parents probably smoked weed when they were young, but since their kids weren't alive then, it's okay. If people just treated celebs like they do everyone else, then nobody would give a shit what they do. It's their personal lives, leave them alone and forget about them. their job is to entertain you for 2 hours on screen, not to entertain you while you're standing in the grocery line, or while you're watching the news, or browsing the web. Celebs are just people, and most often than not, far less interesting than people you actually know.
