Pulp Fiction Writer 'Tweets' Prison Horrors
Gritty details of strip searches, drug use linked to Roger Avary

Pulp Fiction screenwriter Roger Avary has lost his freedom but apparently not his ability to use Twitter. A Twitter accout—@AVARY—appears to be the work of Avary, who is serving a year for vehicular manslaughter. "My friend @AVARY is tweeting from the inside," sci-fi writer Neil Gaiman recently tweeted. "It's riveting, horrible strange. Jail in 140 character lumps."
"AVARY," who refers to himself as "#34" pulls no punches in his descriptions of prison life, tweeting about strip searches, other inmates' drug use, and unsanitary conditions. One entry reads: "Oxy pisses like a racehorse, causing Papa Smurf, a germaphobe in Germaphobe Hell, to shout out 'It feels like it's splashing onto me!" It can't be confirmed that the account belongs to the writer and it's unclear what device he's using, notes the Los Angeles Times.
