It's 'just wrong,' tweets banned journalist

(NEWSER) - A ban on female members at the Georgia golf club that hosted the Masters apparently extends to women reporters—which is teeing off journalists and sports fans. Tara Sullivan, a reporter for New Jersey's Bergen Record, was blocked from joining fellow writers in the locker room of the Augusta National Club for important interviews after the final round of the tournament yesterday. "Bad enough no women members at Augusta. But not allowing me to join writers in locker room interview is just wrong," tweeted Sullivan . A spokesman for the tony Georgia club, which has come under heavy fire for barring female members, has apologized to Sullivan, claiming it was a misunderstanding, reports AP . More»

Injury doesn't keep prez from playing with his daughters

(NEWSER) - President Obama was back on the basketball court yesterday despite his injured lip , but his opponents this time around were a bit less likely to elbow him. Obama played an early morning game at an Interior Department gym with daughters Malia, 12, and Sasha, 9, the New York Daily News reports. Forbes list of most disliked athletes has a new name: Tiger Woods

(NEWSER) - Michael Vick has been out of federal prison for almost a year , but the Eagles quarterback still has some image-polishing to do: For the second straight year, he tops the Forbes list of most disliked people in sports . New for 2010 are Ben Roethlisberger and how-the-mighty-have-fallen poster child Tiger Woods, the only non-football figure in the top five:

1. Michael Vick: Disliked by 69% of 1,100 poll respondents, "Vick was a popular and dynamic player before the dog-fighting episode" and "still appears poised for a recovery with the public."

Compares him to Tony Hayward, tells him to ditch concerts, too

(NEWSER) - Michael Steele would like Obama to give up golf—among other things—for as long as the Gulf is a mess. "Until this problem is fixed, no more golf outings, no more baseball games, no more Beatle concerts, Mr. President," he said. But Steele didn't drop it there.
