Hoffman Concedes, Again

It's all over, finally, in the upstate congressional race

Share

(Newser) – Doug Hoffman conceded the New York congressional election to Democrat Bill Owens yet again today. The Conservative Party candidate said he won't challenge the results, despite the urging of supporters. With the absentee ballots counted, "the results re-affirm the fact that Bill Owens won,” Hoffman said. The muted wording is a contrast to previous statements in which he blamed ACORN and labor unions for voter fraud, notes Politico.

“Since, the morning of November 4th, many of my supporters have asked me to challenge the outcome of this race," said Hoffman's statement. "Their concerns centered on the veracity of the new voting machines used, for the first time, in the majority of the 11 counties that make up the Congressional District. Over the past three weeks, we nearly cut Bill Owens' lead in half. Sadly, that is not enough.”

Why limit it to Hoffman? Let's open it up to all conservatives.

Good one, Unaffiliated. I like that idea. This is a little off-topic, but I want to apologize to DontLikeYou. I was suckered in by Dontilkeyou and I addressed some of my comments to you instead of him. For that, I wish to say that I'm sorry.

From the vault _______ DLY on Oct. 31, 09 3:39pm_______ "Hoffman will win. He is Conservative. Remember these two facts. The GOP sent Newt Gingrich, GOP heavyweight to endorse the liberal Republican. It seemed to be working until Palin came to town and endorsed Hoffman, the Conservative. Palin's endorsement turned the race around for Hoffman. Newt Gingrich and the GOP now has egg on their face. They should be ashamed... Liberals, get out of the GOP. Your time has passed." ___________ a golden oldie.
