Bulgarian Scientists: Aliens Have Landed!

Researchers claim they deciphered crop circles

(Newser) – Aliens are here and they've chosen to make contact with the Bulgarians first, according to researchers at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. The deputy director of the academy's Space Research Institute says researchers are analyzing crop circles for the answers to 50 questions they posed to the extra-terrestrials, the Telegraph reports.

"Aliens are currently all around us, and are watching us all the time," said the official. "They are not hostile toward us. They want to help us, but we have not grown enough in order to establish direct contact with them." The aliens are very critical of humanity's immoral and unnatural behavior, including the use of cosmetics, he added. The Bulgarian government has been hotly debating instituting some reforms at the academy.

It is scientifically possible and even probable that intelligent extraterrestrial life exists. It is also possible that the claims made by the Bulgarian scientists about the alien-contact are completely true. However, there are other possibilities. For example, the crop-circles could have been an inside-job: even if only the scientists knew what messages they had sent, someone from that team could have hired artists to make crop-circles that would seem to be consistent answers to the messages that the scientist had sent. Why would someone want to do this? I don't know, attention, revenge, etc? So in that sense at least it would seem reasonable what was said in the story about humanity's immoral and unnatural behaviour. Anyway there's not enough information yet to say whether or not the story is true. Of course it could also be partly true or it could have an unexpected explanation. I'm looking forward to hear more about this.
