UK Scientist Misses Call Girl Days
Scientist Brook Magnanti recently revealed herself to be the author of a blog about her experiences as a sex worker.   (YouTube)

UK research scientist Brooke Magnanti says she misses the job satisfaction she had as a call girl. "I miss the moment when you walk into a hotel, and that feeling of 'I'm about to do a job and I'm about to do it well," says Magnanti, whose sex work blog under the name "Belle du Jour" became a TV series and best-selling book.

Magnanti, speaking in her first interview since she revealed her identity, tells the Guardian she's relieved that her secret is out. The 34-year-old went public last month to thwart an ex-boyfriend who threatened to reveal her secret life himself. Magnanti denies glamorizing prostitution and says she plans to keep writing, but more about science than sex. She's a specialist in developmental neurotoxicology and cancer epidemiology. She worked as a London prostitute for 14 months while finishing her doctoral thesis.
