(Newser) – As unconfirmed reports about Friday night's car accident dribble out, TMZ now says that Tiger Woods' facial cuts didn't come from the accident but from his wife, Elin Nordegren. He reportedly told a friend that she scratched him after confronting him about rumors he was cheating. Tiger then left the house, with Elin following in hot pursuit with a golf club, hitting the car several times as he drove away, says the gossip site.

When he stopped to figure out what was happening, he got "distracted" and forgot the car wasn't in park. It then hit the hydrant and tree. Woods also reportedly told his friend that he'd been taking a prescription pain medication, which is why he seemed out of it after the crash. TMZ also shares a supposed phone conversation Woods had with a friend on Friday, in which he said, "I have to run to Zales to get a 'Kobe Special.'" Translation? "A house on a finger," Tiger reportedly replied, adding that Elin had "gone ghetto" on him.

He's so STUPID, that is if he was really cheating because there is no way that a celebrity isn't going to have the tabloids up his butt with everyone out there who will rat on you for cold hard cash and it could actually be the woman who he is cheating with who called the tabloids to get the ball rolling in her favor so he would divorce his wife once it came out in public.

This is so sad; I'd expect this from John Daly, but not Tiger. Then again, even Arnold Palmer cheated quite openly on his first wife. There are different rules out there on the PGA Tour. Having said that though, if he misses his big tournament for charity next week because of this, I think he should press charges. Reply

Regardless of his condition, I think he did the right thing by leaving -- or trying to leave. That's the best way to defuse a volatile situation -- ask any cop who does domestic violence calls. And I'm pretty sure they've got a live-in staff to look after the kids. Reply

He is a multi-racial sports hero who has worked very hard all his life to use his 'god given' talent and abilities to get where he is. He was lucky only in the sense that he was the child of a father who laid the ground work and was there by his side every step of the way, I'm sorry he didn't have the wisdom to choose a better woman to share his fame and fortune and bear his kids. I just hope he and his advisors were smart enough to insist on a pre-nup.This woman needs to get help.

I am not sure I agree with the misandrist comment. Seems a bit reactionary. But I do think that if the report came out that the Cabalsian man scratched up the perky blonde former "modelz' who ended up with a car straddling a fire hydrant, there would be a totally different spin being put on this right about now. Gotta wonder about the wife's brain power. First rule of woman "scorned." Not scratch up his face. Take him to the cleaners, not to the ER.

Stupid is any of you believing this stuff. This "article" is pure speculation. Tiger is a loner and has few if any male friends with whom one would have such a conversation with, and doesn't speak ghetto language. If you watched him for 10 minutes, you'd know this does not depict his character and personality, it would be obvious. Also, driving on meds is still a DUI. So only believe a10% of what you hear.
