Jacko DVD Will Miss Christmas

Sony postpones release of This Is It until January

Share

(Newser) – Sorry Michael Jackson fans, but Sony has canceled Christmas, pushing back the This Is It DVD release until late January. You can thank movie theaters, who complained that releasing the DVD so soon after the movie would cut into ticket sales, which E! points out, have already topped $200 million worldwide. The DVD lands a few days before the Grammys, which are on Jan. 31.

No Jacko for the little ones to unwrap Christmas morn? Oh, the humanity! The holiday is surely ruined, and I'll have to rewrite my shopping lists at once. Perhaps we should just postpone Christmas until the release. Reply

I agree, but at the end of the day it's all about the money.

Just in time for the Grammys. I would say that Sony knew exactly what there were doing. A money thing and the time seems just about right. Reply
