(Newser) – A self-described teenage "skank agent" has been busted for luring johns on Craigslist to hotels to be robbed, police report. The Wisconsin girl, 17, offered sex in exchange for an apartment under the "Adult Gigs" section of Craigslist. Once lured to a motel, men who responded to the ad were robbed by the teen's male friends, according to court documents revealed by the Smoking Gun. She's been slapped with prostitution and armed robbery charges.

It was the police search for the missing woman that led them last year to the discovery of a shocking body dump of 10 victims of a suspected serial killer. Police set up task force to track them down

(NEWSER) - California cops have created a new task force to deal with an unlikely threat: highway robbers. At least seven drivers reported being set upon by armed robbers while their cars were disabled on the side of the road in the wee hours of Sept. 18-19, the LA Times reports. “There are isolated incidents where things like this happen,” says one highway patrol officer. “But something like this, where it’s multiple people, obviously caught our attention." (NEWSER) - Jacob Kiss, otherwise known as the guy in the Gumby costume who epically failed in his quest to rob a San Diego 7-Eleven last week, is still not winning. Kiss, 19, turned himself in to police yesterday, accompanied by alleged accomplice Jason Giramma, also 19, who was pictured in the surveillance video but was not dressed as a cartoon character. Cops contacted Giramma last week and told him he and his pal must surrender, SignonSanDiego reports, adding that investigators confiscated the infamous Gumby suit when Kiss brought it in. (NEWSER) - One for the Legendary Fail Department: A person dressed in a Gumby costume attempted to rob a San Diego 7-Eleven on Monday. Here are the problems the would-be criminal ran into: One, the clerk thought it was a joke. Even after Gumby said, "This is a robbery," the employee replied he had cleaning duties to attend to and didn't have time for him. Two, if said would-be robber had a weapon, he couldn't get to it.
