Domestic violence does not comedy make, and the folks over at Popeater aren't laughing at Saturday Night Live's sketch lampooning Tiger Woods and his golf-club-wielding wife, Elin Nordegren—particularly with musical guest "Rihanna on board, we wonder if a domestic violence gag was in especially poor taste," staffers write. Elsewhere:

  • Host "Blake Lively was firmly in the plucky-not-awful tradition," writes Ken Tucker for EW, who pouts that the Gossip Girl didn't do her version of River Dance, as prommised.
  • But it was Rihanna who "was a highlight of our week" with Adam Samberg in "Shy Ronnie," writes Popeater. Singing advice to her mumbling rapper such as, "Move the mic away from your face" was one of the show's truly funny moments.
  • But musically, "Rihanna performed one number wearing some faux chainmail more fetching than the song itself," notes Tucker. "The other performance, “Hard,” with Young Jeezy, felt as leaden as chainmail."
