Bryant Gumbel is being treated for lung cancer and had part of his lung removed last month to excise a malignant tumor. The TV host and sportscaster, 61, revealed his condition today on Live! With Regis and Kelly, when he turned down an exhortation to dance and then explained why, People reports. “I’m OK for the time being,” he says.

"We had told a few people; we told my family, obviously. I even kept it from my staff at Real Sports," Gumbel says. He will soon meet with his surgeon to follow up on the procedure. “I’m hoping they greenlight me to play golf again."
