Shatner visited The Tonight Show yesterday to poeticize Twitter gems such as, “Maybe I’m a genius and not even know it. Maybe I don’t exist and it only seems like I do. (NEWSER) - After realizing Sarah Palin’s incoherent resignation address was not actually a speech but rather poetry, Conan O’Brien started investigating her Twitter feed. “Some people have found her tweets to be a little rambling, confusing, and off-topic,” O’Brien said on last night’s Tonight Show, but that’s because “these are not tweets. VP was impressed with Tonight Show stand-up routine

(NEWSER) - At least one person was impressed with Sarah Palin’s stand-up routine on the Tonight Show, and he wants her to bring it to his comedy club. “Based on her appearance, Zanies Comedy Club would like to book Sarah Palin to perform at the club,” the establishment’s VP tells NBC Chicago . “She has an open invitation to perform. (NEWSER) - NBC's shabby treatment of Conan O'Brien has been a recurring theme of the Jay Leno-centric late-night shuffle, but "he-who-rocks-the-dopest-pompadour-on-TV" has more options than you might think. MTV ponders his options.

• Defect to Fox: The network is apparently interested, and it would be a great way to tick off NBC. But Fox has a terrible track record with late-night talk shows.
• Saturday Night Live: O'Brien's writing tenure at SNL coincided with a memorably strong run for the show, but Tonight Show host to "Cheeto-dusted anonymity" is a major step down.
