O.J. Arrested in Heist of Memorabilia

Simpson says he was retrieving stolen property

(Newser) – There was no Bronco chase this time, as police arrested O.J. Simpson after an alleged armed burglary at a Las Vegas hotel. Simpson and his pals made off with memorabilia that the ex-football phenom says were stolen from him. Police nabbed another man in the case last night, and seized two guns that may have been used in the heist, CNN reports.

Simpson says the incident was not a burglary, and at least one of the alleged victims agrees. But OJ does admit that he entered the hotel room of a memorabilia auctioneer to retrieve stolen property, and brought men along to help carry it out. One dealer present claims that they brandished guns and conducted a “home invasion-type robbery.”
