(Newser) – Rapper TI left jail today after serving about 7 months of his 1-year sentence, heading from the low-security facility in Arkansas to a halfway house in his hometown of Atlanta. The 29-year-old, whose real name is Clifford Harris, will likely remain there until March, XXL reports, under a federal sentence for attempting to purchase unregistered machine guns and other weapons

did you go to the link for he explanation? It is not for an unregistered weapon. It has to do with NFA laws (ie automatic weapons) It is one of the reasons statistically that automatic weapons are rarely used in crimes. If any normal non-celeb was caught with a full auto rifel without the proper documentation, that person is looking at a 10 yr federal sentence for each occurence.

Ten years for a unregistered gun?! Seriously, you have way to much time on your hands. Child molester and murderers don't get that much time
