Woman Busted After Vowing to Kill First Lady

She's nabbed within miles of Obamas' Hawaiian vacation home

(Newser) – A woman has been arrested in Hawaii after telling the Secret Service she planned to "blow away" Michelle Obama, officials revealed. Kristy Lee Roshia, 35, was charged with threatening a family member of the president and assaulting a federal agent after her weekend arrest within two miles of the Kailua house where the Obamas plan to vacation this week.

Roshia called the Boston office of the Secret Service last month and vowed to kill the First Lady and Marines, AP reports. Roshia has a history of leaving rambling messages and sending letters and photos of herself to the Secret Service.

I think it's time we abolished any affirmative defense (temporary or permanent insanity). What with all the modern technology at the disposal of law enforcement agencies, it is a given one must be insane to commit any crime.

@ron and everyone else who gave my comment against being prejudiced a negative: Apparently you have no appreciation for the hate that comes with being prejudiced, if you even know what being prejudiced is in the first place. It is hypocrisy to turn your cheek at someone who takes somebody who is a moron (this woman, Roshia, who threatened Michelle Obama, AND whose politics are not mentioned nor relevant) and says that this is a "typical" righty, and then decry the use of prejudiced attitudes in other circumstances. Don't misunderstand me, being prejudiced is NEVER acceptable. But you who would get all up in arms by somebody calling a robber who is black "typical" of the black race, should get equally offended at somebody doing what Spatula did. Oh, I forgot, it's OK when the hate is directed towards conservatives or republicans right? Hypocrites, the lot of you.

Well Paul, deductive reasoning, she's not a democrat. Facts of the story: she's a nut job. Put 2 and 2 together, you get the lunatic fringe = teabaggers, birthers, etc. and none of them belong to the Democratic Party. This woman is crazy and out for attention, she needs a shrink or a padded cell before she hurts someone.
