Susan Boyle 'Has Not Seen a Penny': Bro

But she's planning to buy a $1M home when royalties roll in

(Newser) – Despite her 4 weeks at the top of the charts and her massive popularity, Susan Boyle is still living on a $285 weekly allowance, her brother says. “At present she has not seen a penny of her fortune,” Gerry Boyle tells Irish Central. No word on when she'll start to see the payoff on what may be the No. 1 selling album of 2009, but she “knows it will soon be coming her way,” he says, adding, “as for luxuries such as jewelry and flat-screen TVs, there are none.”

That could be a good thing, for now—Boyle found two intruders in her garden over Christmas, Gerry says, and has since installed an alarm. “People will think because she is about to become very rich she'll have all kinds of valuables scattered around the house,” he says. “But the truth is there is nothing in there worth stealing.” Gerry goes on to speculate that Boyle will have to move soon. "She now has to realize that living in this small house is no longer suitable and more importantly not safe for her." She's got her eye on a couple of places near her current home in the $1 million to $1.5 million range, he says.

If this is true, then it seems some one has suckered her and is using her. What a shame.

Hey Emily, I checked out your location....Awesome to see you live in Nashville...I live in Canada, near Toronto, and have been a songwriter with SOCAN CANADA for 23 years. Also been involved with Pride music group, been signed with Evergreen records, and currently writing and submitting to Ole music publishing, as an old Canadian friend is CCO, so that allows me to write and submit. Yes, Susan Boyle if she didn't write many of the tunes, which I am not sure of, will work around mechanical album sales, but mostly touring, appearances, and product sales. I know from experience as part of a group writing a number 11 for Billy Joe Royal many years ago, it could take a year for sure. Write back if you wish....I have many Nashville stories.......Robert
