Explosives Could've Blown Hole in Jet

Abdulmutallab carried more than shoe-bomber

(Newser) – The explosives Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab carried with him aboard Friday’s flight to Detroit were powerful enough to blow a hole in the side of the plane, sources tell the Washington Post. ABC News has obtained photos of the explosives, which were sewn into Abdulmutallab’s underwear. The package contained 80 grams of PETN; Richard Reid, convicted of a shoe-bombing attempt in 2001, carried 50 grams, which a federal test found was enough to blast open an airliner.

Too bad the explosives didn't blow off his private parts.

This was not a comment about what a huge number 56% is. It was a comment on how huge a number it is compared to the perceived notion of Dems that the Repubs are just a radical tiny minority that can be easily dismissed from mind. In additin, if I remember correctly, I believe Obama's numbers are the lowest for any president this early in his presidency. Bush had 8 years to get there. Obama is off to a roaring start in under a year!

It's not political. That's what I used to think, before I read Sam Harris' book titled "The End of Faith". I now understand that they are primarily motivated by their religious beliefs.
