(Newser) – It’s hard to believe that until recently, we were forced to get our news of celebrity stupidity secondhand: Thanks to Twitter’s booming popularity, now it comes straight from the horse’s mouth. The Frisky selects the top 10 celebrity Twitter feuds of 2009:

  • Ashton Kutcher vs. CNN: When Kutcher bet he could reach a million followers first, Larry King predicted, “CNN will bury you.” It didn’t.
  • Miley Cyrus vs. Justin Gaston: As teenagers tend to do, this ex-pair vented at each other post-breakup…via Twitter, for all the world to see.

  • John Mayer vs. Perez Hilton: After Hilton got punched in the face by a member of the Black Eyed Peas entourage, Mayer gave him some advice: “I also want to train you in an old martial art called ‘Never Call A Black Dude a F*ggot Jitsu.'”
  • Courtney Love vs. Taylor Momsen and Jess Origliasso: Courtney Love is always good for a rambling, grammatically-incorrect rant—and she didn’t disappoint when she decided these two young rockers were stealing her style. (Literally—she accused Origliasso, of The Veronicas, of wearing “my actual clothes.”)
