Shut It, Cheney: White House

'Bellicose rhetoric' about war failed before, fails now: Pfeiffer

(Newser) – Dick Cheney’s “bellicose rhetoric” and “clearly untrue” claims following the Christmas terror attempt aren't sitting well at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave, and the new administration isn't shy about telling the ex-veep off. Echoing the sentiment—and the words, even—of a “senior Democrat” yesterday in Politico, Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer questions the former VP’s motives. “It is telling that Vice President Cheney and others seem to be more focused on criticizing the Administration than condemning the attackers.”

Cheney is “engaged in the typical Washington game of pointing fingers and making political hay,” Pfeiffer writes on the White House blog. “This president is not interested in bellicose rhetoric, he is focused on action. Seven years of bellicose rhetoric failed to reduce the threat from al-Qaeda.” And watch those lies about Obama not admitting we’re at war—Pfeiffer has a stack of statements proving otherwise. He just "doesn’t need to beat his chest to prove it, and—unlike the last administration—we are not at war with a tactic ('terrorism'), we are at war with something that is tangible.”

7 years of bellicose rhetoric failed to reduce the threat from al Qaeda and succeeded in dividing this country. And it seems strangely off-key now, at a time when our country is under attack, for the architect of those policies to be attacking the President. - Dan Pfeiffer

Dickey boy Cheney, he of the four Viet Nam war draft deferments and his compassionate excuse , "I had better things to do" plus his refusal to hand over documents to a senate committe because his vice presidential office "wasn't part of the executive branch" is the last...thee L A S T person to criticise A N Y O N E in public office!! If you're seeking a comment on Cheney's ethics and character, talk to "Scooter" Libby, remember him? He took a criminal conviction dive for his boss Dick re: the infamous Niger "yellow cake" affair.
