Stocks remained stuck in neutral on a lukewarm December jobs report and slight expansion in the non-manufacturing sector, though raw-materials firms saw gains, the Wall Street Journal reports.

  • The Dow rose 2 points to close at 10,574.
  • The Nasdaq fell 8 points, closing at 2,301.
  • The S&P 500 added 1 point to settle at 1,137.
