Stuart Sugarman became New York's latest tragic victim of spin rage, when he and his stationary bike were hurled against a wall by stockbroker and fellow spinner Chris Carter. The "euphoric experience" of cycling got Sugarman grunting—and irritated Carter. “This is spin class,” Sugarman told him. “If you don’t like it, leave.” Carter took exception, the AP reports.

At least, that’s Sugarman’s version of events. Carter will fight the misdemeanor assault charge against him, according to his lawyer, who says the truth will be “a vastly different story than Mr. Sugarman’s.” Sugarman suffered a back injury that required surgery to correct a herniated disc, his attorney told the AP, coining the term “spin rage” to describe the incident.
