Here's a sign of how hot the Martha Coakley-Scott Brown race is in Massachusetts: Today's buzz, complete with bloggers afire, is about an altercation between Weekly Standard reporter John McCormack and a Coakley aide. McCormack says he got shoved into a metal grate and ended up on the ground, and he's pretty sure the culprit is media consultant Michael Meehan. He released a YouTube video titled "Coakley thug roughs up reporter."

"Someone owes me a new pair of pants," writes McCormack, who was trying to question Coakley about Afghanistan. "I just noticed there's a large tear in the back of my suit pants." (More Martha Coakley stories.)
