Cat Saves Family, Goes Missing
A tabby like this one alerted her family that the house was on fire, but has since disappeared.

A cat who alerted her sleeping family to a fire spreading through their house, allowing them to escape unharmed, has disappeared from their suburban Chicago home. Baby roused Josh Ornberg and girlfriend Letitia Kovalovsky, who are expecting twins, and their dog early this morning. Because the 13-year-old tabby usually "hides under the bed or the bathtub," they paid attention, Ornberg said. "They were lucky," said a firefighter who responded to the scene.

As for Baby, "she's an inside cat," Ornberg told the Chicago Tribune. "We'll find her."
