In London, Giuliani Picks Up Cred and Cash

(Newser) – Rudy Giuliani left behind the cornfields of Iowa for cosmopolitan London yesterday, where he met with campaign contributors and no fewer than three prime ministers. After a visit to Tony Blair's new offices and to Gordon Brown at No. 10, Giuliani got his most desired photo-op of all, writes the Telegraph: an award and a handshake from Margaret Thatcher.

In a lecture at a think-tank that awarded him a medal named after Thatcher, the mayor linked New York and London's experiences of terror to the Blitz and hailed the resilient transatlantic "special relationship." London has become something of a campaign stop in this election: Fred Thompson also met with Thatcher, and Michelle Obama and Bill Clinton will both travel there soon to raise funds.
