In a major blow to Democrats, Beau Biden sent an email to supporters telling them that he won’t be running for his dad’s open Senate seat after all. Instead, he’ll try for another term as Delaware’s Attorney General. Democrats had been counting on him to beat popular Republican Rep. Mike Castle; without him, they could lose the seat, Politics Daily reports.

“My first responsibilities are here in Delaware,” Biden writes, saying he needs to “focus on a case of great consequence.” He was alluding, presumably, to the case against Earl Bradley, a pediatrician who allegedly sexually assaulted up to 100 children. "As the father of two young children, I can think of no worse crime than those committed by child predators," he continues. "Justice can be done. And I am determined to see that it is. I have a job to finish. And that's what I must do.” (More Beau Biden stories.)
