Virginia Student's Body Found
Skeletal remains found in a farm field are believed to be those of Morgan Harrington, 20.   (Virginia State Pollice)

Virginia police believe skeletal remains discovered by a farmer in a Charlottesville field are those of a Virginia Tech student who disappeared last October after attending a Metallica concert. Education major Morgan Harrington, 20, was the subject of repeated fruitless searches. "I looked down and saw what looked like a human skull, and my first thought was that it was Morgan Harrington," the farmer who discovered the bones told CNN.

Police are awaiting test results for final confirmation, but evidence found with the body have convinced them the bones are Harrington's. Her father called it "a horrible day." Morgan's mom, Gil Harrington, was still holding out hope just last weekend that her daughter would turn up alive. "Despite the length of time Morgan has been gone I remain hopeful," she wrote in her blog. "Part of me is waiting for God to bring Morgan home. The light always returns, it cannot help but return."
