Apple Tablet Announcement Could Break Twitter

Some tweets already going out 4 to 5 minutes late

(Newser) – Twitter is already buckling under the weight of the massive buzz around Apple’s tablet. Ahead of the expected 1pm announcement, some tweets are already taking 4 to 5 minutes to post, Mashable reports. That sort of undermines Twitter’s “real-time” news appeal, on a day that promises a lot of news; the State of the Union is tonight. It wouldn’t be the first time Steve Jobs crashed Twitter—he did it at Macworld two years ago, when Twitter was a much younger service.

i know and understand WHY it was bogged down, doesn't change the fact that twitter is a whole lot of useless chatter amongst people with not much else to do then send short messages to each other.

It is because twitter servers were handling about10,000 tweet per minute on one topic. At one point #iTablet was tweeted 250 per second. I don't care who you are, that is a lot of traffic.

that's cause Twitter is a dying useless brand of chatter amongs people that have nothing more to say then a "tweet" worth of text.
