Jersey Shore Cast Gets Second Season

Pauly D, the Situation, and everyone else will return to MTV

(AP) – MTV's Jersey Shore will be back for a second season with its original cast. The network ordered 12 new episodes to air this summer. Pauly D, Mike, Snooki, Jenni, Sammi, Ronnie, and Vinny "escape the cold Northeast and find themselves in a new destination," says an MTV statement. For those who need a recap, MTV will air all of season one's episodes on Feb. 7 beginning at 9am.

The big breakup occurred after Vinny had a major fight with another cast mate, sources say. He's holed up in his Staten Island home and feeling "burned out," said a pal. Vinny has been such a pain lately that no one cares to expend the effort to entice him back, sources add. (NEWSER) - "Snooki arrested!" screamed the headlines around the world, and the mayor of the town where the Jersey Shore star faces a disorderly conduct charge couldn't be happier, reports the New York Post . "We're getting wonderful publicity!" says Ken Hershey. "We couldn't pay a half-million dollars for this!" Details of the incident are still emerging: In the Post's account, a drunk Snooki, aka Nicole Polizzi, was heard saying, "Do you know who I am? I'm fucking Snooki! (NEWSER) - Nicole Polizzi, aka Snooki, was arrested this afternoon and charged with disorderly conduct, TMZ reports . The Jersey Shore star ran afoul of the law in Seaside Heights, NJ, where the MTV show was filming. She had been seen at the beach earlier in the day drinking Coke out of a beer bong. A source tells People , "She didn’t hurt anyone or get in a fight. She just needs to be in a drunk tank for two hours." More»
